Training Name: Theatrical Intimacy Education Workshop Weekend - Asheville

Attendance Date: Summer 2023 Overview: Led by the Theatrical Intimacy Education co-founder Laura Rikard and team. The weekend includes 16 hours of in-person training on TIE's Best Practices and most practical tools. This workshop will cover the following topics: the expanding definition of intimacy, developing a working understanding of consent (and the tools to support it), establishing and communicating boundaries, de-Loaded Language and techniques for choreography, rehearsal best practices, consent and vulnerability exercises for actors, de-roling techniques, strategies for casting, introduction to documentation and policy considerations, and restorative-justice frameworks for managing conflict.
